Umphrey’s McGee wrapped up their three night “Mitten Run,” playing for the second straight night at The Fillmore in Detroit, MI. The show was filled with big highlights from the jam group, including a ton of classic material and a pair of choice covers throughout the night.
The band opened up the night with “Gents > Plunger,” before cruising into classics like “Dump City,” “Miami Virtue” and “Nemo.” They used “Utopian Fir” to sandwich newer song “Speak Up,” and ultimately closed out set one with a cover of David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance.” Set two brought more of the same Umphrey’s joy, including a big “Hurt Bird Bath > Cut The Cable > Hurt Bird Bath” to start the set. The band also played their cover of King Crimson’s “Red,” as dedicated to the recently deceased John Wetton. They would close the set with a lounge style “Nopener,” and encore the night with “Much Obliged.”
