Every Friday, jam rockers Umphrey’s McGee have been treating fans with a new track from their forthcoming mash-up album, ZONKEY. Umphrey’s McGee has worked live mash-ups into their setlists for the past few years, cleverly taking the music of multiple artists and fusing them in uniquely titled tracks. On November 11th, Umphrey’s will share their studio recordings of said mash-ups. So far, the results have been undeniably fun.

Today’s release sees the band tackle the catalogs of Ween and Motörhead for a new song called “Ace of Long Nights.” With the music of “It’s Gonna Be A Long Night” (Ween) and “Ace Of Spades” (Motörhead) at their disposal, Umphrey’s has put together quite the fun segment of music. The song has only been played live twice before, both times in 2012, so this version sounds particularly fresh – especially considering the recent reunion of Ween.

Check out the new track below, which premiered on Diffuser.fm earlier today.

Umphrey’s just kicked off a three night run in Philadelphia, PA last night, and will be touring intermittently through the remainder of 2016. The band did recently announce a winter 2017 tour as well, one that includes support from sax man Joshua Redman and up and coming jammers Spafford. Details can be found here.
