Firefly Music Festival got a taste of Mother Nature last night, as Tropical Storm Bill forced the festival to evacuate the grounds at roughly 9:45 PM. With Tropical Storm Bill looming, the announcement was blared through the PA: “Dangerous, inclement weather is coming… Please clear the festival site.”
Just moments after the headliners Kings of Leon were set to perform, tens of thousands were forced to evacuate and seek shelter. The weather ultimately caused the cancellation of the majority of Saturday night’s acts, including Kings of Leon, Lettuce, Sublime with Rome, Rustie, Matoma and more. Kid Cudi’s set was rained out as well, after only 20 minutes of performing.
With continued storms, shows will not resume tonight. Sunday shows remain as planned. Stay safe and see you tomorrow!

The only acts able to reschedule to today were Steve Aoki and The Chainsmokers.
To confirm, @steveaoki and @TheChainsmokers were the only artists that were able to reschedule. See you in #TheWoodlands in a couple hours!

This was one of two US summer festival performances left on the books in 2015, with the other being Summerfest in Milwaukee, WI next Thursday, June 25th. At the very least, Firefly has been able to recover, and all Sunday performances are still on schedule. We’re glad everyone at Firefly is okay after all of the bad weather!
