On Friday night, Ween kicked off their summer tour at the Royal Oak Music Theatre in Royal Oak, Michigan. To say that the band had something special planned for their tour opener would be an understatement, as Ween offered major bust outs across the thirty-song set. Perhaps most notably, the group performed “She Caught My Fancy” toward the middle of their performance, marking the seventh time the song (which has never been officially released, though recorded on 2000’s White Pepper) has been played in the band’s history, with the last time being during their summer tour in 1999. The emergence of “She Caught My Fancy” after eighteen years no doubt was a highlight of the group’s set; however, the group also offered “Stay Forever” and “I Don’t Want It” ahead of “She Caught My Fancy,” both of which hadn’t been played since Ween’s performance last fall at The Capitol Theatre following Thanksgiving, and “Don’t Laugh (I Love You),” which was last performed at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in October of last year.
