Earlier this week, various websites began showing details of an official “Roxy – The Movie” release, piquing the interest of Frank Zappa fans who have waited over 40 years for an announcement of this magnitude. Video footage of the shows, which took place at the famous Roxy club in Los Angeles, CA from December 8-10, 1973, has never been officially released.
While some fans believed the leaked details to be true, others remained skeptical, waiting for an official announcement from the Zappa Family Trust. Then, something magical happened… a trailer for Roxy – The Movie was posted on Zappa.com!

This exciting release is just the tip of the iceberg, as Frank’s son Ahmet Zappa recently took over the Family Trust from Frank’s widow, Gail, and promised “more music and more access – when they want it and how they want it” in a recent interview.
