The Preservation Hall Band held its annual gala to support the Preservation Hall Foundation which brings traditional jazz education into schools, and school children into the Hall. The performance, held at the Civic Theater on 10/3/15, welcomed special guests to join the Pres Hall Band including The Pinettes Brass Band, Deacon John Moore, Ivan Neville (Dumpstaphunk), Corey Glover (Living Colour), Greg Dulli (Afghan Whigs), Meshell Ndegeocello, Stanton Moore and Robert Mercurio (Galactic) and Griz. 

Musical highlights included a spoken word version of James Brown’s “Say it loud – I’m black and I’m proud” by Ndegeocello accompanied by Ivan Neville, “St James Infirmary” by Glover,  George Clinton’s “Red Hot Mama” by the Afgan Whigs and a rousing version of Living Colour’s “Cult of Personality” by the ensemble including Moore and Mercurio.
