R.E.M is celebrating the 25th anniversary of their seminal 1991 LP Out of Time with a special reissue that will feature unreleased demos, live performances, and music videos. Due out November 18, the band is building anticipation by releasing some of the previously unheard demo recordings. “Losing My Religion” was released last month, and now, an early cut of “Shiny Happy People” is here.
The original album was recorded in 1990 at John Keane Studio in Athens, Georgia and reveals a folkier instrumentation from the band. The release will include the 11-song original album Out of Time, along with 19 demos and outtakes and a live show from Mountain Stage in West Virginia in 1991.
