It’s a common practice at sporting events for the in-house video team to acknowledge the notable people in attendance. On Friday night, during a boxing match at Madison Square Garden in New York City, the arena announcer gave a few seconds of jumbo-tron time to the various celebrities who had come to catch the fight. Famous attendees included the likes of comedian Louis C.K., 4-time former Heavyweight Champion of the World Evander Holyfield and Phish frontman Trey Anastasio. However, it seemed the announcer may have forgotten to “surrender to the flow,” as he had a bit of trouble pronouncing the guitarist’s name:
Yep, you heard that right: that is THE “Troy” Anastasio, lead singer of the band “Finch!” But while his name was hilariously butchered among the list of stars in attendance that night, the guitarist is perhaps the biggest star on that list–at least inside that building. This summer, “Troy and the Boys”–better known as Phish–will take over the world’s most famous arena for an unprecedented 13-night residency.
