The Red Hot Chili Peppers just released a new music video for the song “Goodbye Angels” off their 2016 album The Getaway. This latest music video alternatingly switches between a girl’s debauchery as she tries to sneak into a Red Hot Chili Peppers’ concert and live footage of the concert itself. Somewhat unsurprising for the slow-building and bittersweet song, its accompanying music video initially shows the girl during moments of liberation and euphoria, with the girl outrunning a security guard, stealing a bike and later a beer, making out with a girl in the bathroom (and stealing a pill that is later enjoyed at the show), and grinning as she sneaks backstage past Anthony Kiedis and Flea. As the girl’s pill kicks in, predictably, she rages the concert, and the footage highlights how sweet their lighting rig is for this past tour. However, the tone of these images shift, eventually leaving the girl alone, coming down hard, and literally weeping one lone tear the crew cleans up the arena after the show.
