Relive The Motet’s 2017 Red Rocks Performance With This Feel-Good Video Recap Set To “Supernova”

The Motet has made a habit out of bringing together diverse talent for an early June blowout at Red Rocks. Last year, The band was joined by 90’s hip-hop heavyweights Jurassic 5 and Bay Area blues/R&B outfit The California Honeydrops. The previous year, in 2016, The Motet was joined by Vulfpeck and Medeski, Martin & Wood for their first-ever headlining play at the amphitheater and their first with the band’s current lineup (Dave Watts, drums; Joey Porter, keys; Garrett Sayers, bass; Ryan Jalbert, guitar; Lyle Divinsky, vocals; Gabe Mervine, trumpet; Drew Sayers, sax). Before that, in 2015, they joined forces with co-headliner Lettuce as well as DJ Jazzy Jeff and Exmag for their Red Rocks affair. This year’s lineup with BoomBox and The New Mastersounds promises to continue that funky early-summer tradition.
