Willie Nelson & Family have announced some new summer tour dates, including a series of shows with Alison Krauss and a one-off concert with Van Morrison at New York City’s Forest Hills Stadium.
Nelson and Krauss will team for a handful of Southern shows in May before reconvening for a ten-night run through the West Coast in late July/early April. Nelson, who turns 85 on April 29th, will be on the road in support of his forthcoming record Last Man Standing, which is slated for release on April 27th and features 11 new original songs by Nelson and producer Buddy Cannon.
After wrapping his run with Krauss, Nelson will head to New York City for a show with Van Morrison at Queens’ famed Forest Hills Stadium. Morrison will headline the evening with support from Nelson, who will be performing at the venue for the first name.
Tickets for most of Nelson’s shows with Krauss will go on sale on Friday, April 6th, and tickets for the NYC concert with Van Morrison will be available on Saturday, April 7th. A full list of Nelson’s upcoming tour dates can be found via his website.
In related news, Willie Nelson will also swing through much of this country with his annual Outlaw Music Festival. This year’s incarnation of the traveling roadshow will feature sets from Sturgill Simpson, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Elvis Costello, and The Head and The Heart.
