Some of the biggest names in rock music will gather at the Beacon Theatre in New York City on March 7th to help raise money for people in need with the third annual “Love Rocks NYC“ benefit concert. The one-night event will feature scheduled performances from Robert Plant, Sheryl Crow, blues legend Buddy Guy, ZZ Top‘s Billy F Gibbons, Marcus King, Lukas Nelson, and many more. Money raised at the event will go to benefit God’s Love We Deliver, a non-profit organization that prepares and delivers high-quality meals to people who are unable to provide or prepare themselves because of illness.
The event will be hosted by self-described Deadhead and actress Whoopi Goldberg and comedian Martin Short, with other special guests also promised to be in attendance. The musical portion of the show will be directed by Will Lee, with other scheduled performers including Hozier, Grace Potter, Keb Mo, Taj Mahal, Jimmie Vaughan, former Yankees outfielder/acclaimed guitarist Bernie Williams, The Neville Brothers‘ Ivan Neville, roots rock outfit Larkin Poe, Alice Smith, and blues musician Mike Flanigin. Fans who attend the event on March 7th should also be on the lookout for “Surprise Guests,” according to the event poster also shared on Monday morning. The event is being sponsored by notable punk-rock fan and fashion designer John Varvatos, and poet Greg Williamson.
The 2018 edition of “Love Rocks NYC” featured stand-out performances from Keith Richards, Donald Fagen, Warren Haynes, and many more. Fans can click here to revisit the special night at the Beacon Theatre in 2018.
Plant and Crow spent parts of last summer on tour together, mostly in support of the former Led Zepplin singer’s then-new solo album, 2017’s Carry Fire. The New York City stop on the 2018 summer tour featured an outdoor concert at Forest Hills Stadium in June.
General on-sale for the event will begin this Friday, January 18th, at 10 a.m. ET. Fans can click here for more information and tickets.
