Last month, Asheville, NC native and resident Warren Haynes announced a brand new symphonic event dubbed Warren Haynes Presents Dreams & Songs – A Symphonic Experience, set to debut at Asheville’s Thomas Wolfe Auditorium on Saturday, March 16th. The hometown event will see Haynes teaming up with the Asheville Symphony Orchestra, keyboardist John Medeski, bassist Oteil Burbridge, and drummer Jeff Sipe.
Due to popular demand and a quick sell-out, Haynes has extended the debut of his symphonic experience, as the all-star cast of musicians will now offer up a second helping of Warren’s arrangements on Sunday, March 17th, also at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium.
The announcement on Thursday via press release notes that fans should look for Warren and the ensemble to offer, “a symphonic take on his classic, career-spanning material,” as well as material from Gov’t Mule, Allman Brothers Band, Grateful Dead, Haynes’ solo catalog, and more.
Although Warren has never devoted the entirety of a symphonic show to focus in on his own music, he is no stranger to playing beside a symphony. In years past, Haynes has paid his respects to the Grateful Dead master himself, Jerry Garcia, with a unique symphonic tribute highlighted by Warren rocking out on Garcia’s Tiger and Wolf guitars.
A fan pre-sale will begin next Tuesday, February 19th at 12 p.m. (EST). Tickets go on sale to the general public on Thursday, February 21st at 10 a.m. (EST) here.
