Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and Goose continued their ongoing run of winter performances together on the shores of Lake Erie earlier this week as the two rock bands delivered a performance at the Agora Theatre in Cleveland, OH on Thursday (3/5).
The show, which saw Goose opening for Pigeons as they’ve done at recent tour stops so far, opened with the talented quartet from Connecticut warming their Ohio fans up with a seven-song performance that included “Flodown”, “Wysteria Lane”, “Honey Bee”, “Echo Of A Rose”, “So Ready”, and more.
Pigeons’ two-set headlining performance saw the more seasoned band take fans in attendance on a ride with a handful of songs from the band’s latest studio album, 2020’s Presto. The band’s first set opened with “High As Five” and kept rocking with high-energy performances of “Yo Soy Fiesta”, “Melting Lights”, “Live it Up”, and “Fun in Funk”, to name a few.
Following a set break, the band returned for the second half of the show with performances of “Funk E Zekiel”, “Somethin For Ya”, a “Skipjack” which included an “Eleanor Rigby” tease, a cover of Talking Heads‘ “Psycho Killer”, and “Walk Outside”. Pigeons closed the show with a one-song encore of “Ocean Flows”, presumably in reference to the frozen Great Lake located on the northern border of the Ohio city.
Watch the band briefly explore The Beatles‘ “Eleanor Rigby” during the second half of Thursday’s show below.
