Warren Haynes, Danny Louis Share 360° VR "Beautifully Broken" Video Shot At South Farms [Watch]

Warren Haynes and Danny Louis of Gov’t Mule have spent much of the last few months performing a series of live shows at South Farms, the socially-distanced outdoor concert venue in Morris, CT as part of the Twilight Concerts on the Farm series. Ahead of one of the duo’s South Farms shows, Warren and Danny set up shop outside the venue to record a special video of “Beautifully Broken” in 360°/3D virtual reality with The VR Sessions.

As Haynes explains to start off the video, “This is a song that Danny and I wrote together, and when we wrote it, he was playing guitar, and the main riff came from a riff that he was playing. It’s mostly his riff that I kinda tweaked a little bit. That’s what lead to us writing this tune. He’s playing it on piano now ‘cus that’s the way that we usually do it when we play it now, but we wrote it on two guitars.”

With that, the duo moves into a lovely rendition of bittersweet ballad, “Beautifully Broken”. While the performance itself is great, it’s the 360-degree view of the rolling pastures behind them and the bucolic farm scenery in front of them that make this VR video something special. As Haynes explained of the video in a post on social media, “Danny Louis and I had the pleasure, a few weeks back, of playing a few songs outside on the South Farms grounds while our friends The VR Sessions captured the performance and the beauty of South Farms in full 360 degree VR.
