Lindsey Buckingham, the lauded singer/songwriter/guitarist best known for his decades of work with Fleetwood Mac, has announced a livestream performance from his Los Angeles home studio billed as At Home with Lindsey Buckingham.
The stream, set to take place at 8:30 ET on Saturday, December 5th, will mark Buckingham’s first public show since 2019. Tickets for the pay-per-view At Home with Lindsey Buckingham set go on sale on Friday, November 13th at 10:00 a.m. ET here.
As he explains in a video announcing the At Home stream, “I’ve been laying low lately just like everyone else, and I haven’t seen any of you for a while, and so I thought I’d give a little intimate concert from my home studio. It’s gonna be on December 5th, and you can all watch it from the comfort of your own homes.”
In 2019, Buckingham’s vocal cords were damaged during open-heart surgery, casting his future as a singer into question. In August, he sang a few songs as part of a Zoom conference series hosted by the IT company, Nutanix, where he showed that his voice was back in performing shape.
Buckingham was supposed to return to the stage with a brief spring tour originally scheduled for April and May, but those dates were postponed indefinitely. The tour’s announcement earlier this year came just a few weeks after Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood told Rolling Stone that while Buckingham’s legacy as a longtime leader of the band is well intact, he doesn’t expect to ever welcome the guitarist back to the group.
Buckingham’s most recent release, Solo Anthology – The Best of Lindsey Buckingham, is a comprehensive record of his decades of prolific songwriting. The album features live and alternate versions of some of Lindsey’s celebrated solo albums as well as his music with Fleetwood Mac, including two previously unreleased songs, “Hunger” and “Ride This Road”.
