As live music slowly makes its return, venues across the country that made it through have a lot to look forward to, and even more to be proud of. Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver, CO celebrates its return to full capacity after months with either no shows or limited capacity, socially distant performances. While reduced capacity performances have been a beacon of hope for many, the financial reality of filling a venue only halfway was not sustainable for venue owners and musicians alike.

Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom is co-owned by Duncan Goodman, Diana Azab, Scott Morrill, and Adam Stroul, who were recruited to become AEG Presents Rocky Mountains talent buyers in 2017 after years of operating the club. The historic location has been around since the 1930s and hosted legendary performers such as Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman. In the past few decades, it’s become a local favorite for both patrons and players alike for its community-driven vibes, local history, and tendencies to host special one-off supergroup nights.

This Saturday, 5/29, Cervantes’ is hosting supergroup BTTRFLY QUINTET, which features Adam Deitch (Lettuce), Eric “Benny” Bloom (Lettuce), Borahm Lee (Break Science), Dominic Lalli (Big Gigantic), and Hunter Roberts. Funk lovers and fellow fans of Lettuce will also enjoy guitarist Eric Krasno with his new band, The Assembly, on 6/5. The following week on 6/10, classic jam fans will get a kick out of DeadPhish Orchestra, self-described as a seamless web of Grateful Dead and Phish to split open and melt your face.

Country-loving fans of The Allman Brothers Band will enjoy The Other Brothers a high country tribute to The Allman Brothers on 6/11. DJ Williams Shots Fired on 6/19 features an all-star lineup of DJ Williams himself, Kowan Turner (Natural Chemistry), Jeff Franca (Thievery Corporation), Dan Africano (Ghost Light), D’Vibes (Watermelon Funk), Nick Gerlach, Parris Fleming (The TMRW PPL), and Kim Dawson. Genre-bending jammers Eminence Ensemble make their way to the Denver hotspot with Moonradish on 6/25, and Traffic Jam – An All-Star Tribute to Traffic plays a Widespread Panic after show the next night on 6/26.
