This weekend, RAQ is taking the stage at Aura Music Festival for a comeback performance after the band took a break to focus on other projects. Guitarist Chris Michetti has been touring almost non-stop with Disco Biscuits side project Conspirator, while Todd Stoops co-founded the successful funk fusion band Kung Fu. But now, RAQ fans can finally quench their thirst for some more pure jam music as the band is set to take the stage for a comeback show at Gramercy Theater on March 29, 2013!

Throughout the 2000′s, RAQ worked their way up the jam band ranks, eventually looking like they’d be the heir apparent to the jam band crown. In a few short years, RAQ were already veterans of Bonnaroo Music Festival, High Sierra Music Festival, Wakarusa Music and Camping Festival, Camp Bisco, moe.down, and Langerado Music Festival among others. Relix Magazine highlighted them in 2005 as a band to look out for, and the were nominated for a Jammy Award for ‘Best New Band’. In 2006, they even recorded their Ton These album at Trey Anastasio’s fabled Barn in Woodstock.

While individual members other projects have taken off, fans have clamored for some more pure RAQ. The band’s brand of jam music is pure – merging progressive rock and funk with quirky lyrics and nasty guitar solos. In a world where the modern jam band has two lap tops and fifteen band members – RAQ keeps it old school. Four members, pure rock music, and lots of jams.

With the crazy touring schedules of band member’s other projects, there’s no guarantee when you’ll get your next chance to see RAQ.
