Great Blue Heron Music Festival will return to The Heron Farm & Event Center in Sherman, NY over Independence Day weekend with over 30 bands on three stages including Donna the Buffalo, Sam Bush, Rubblebucket, Couch, Cool Cool Cool, Jimkata, and more.
After celebrating its 30th anniversary last summer, Great Blue Heron Music Festival will enter its fourth decade with three days of music and camping, plus instrument and dance workshops, food and craft vendors, swimming on a lifeguarded beach, biking, hiking, and daily activities for kids, teens, and seniors Friday, July 5th through Sunday, July 7th.
New this year is the launch a third, larger stage deep in the woods. “We’ve had other events on the property that have set up a stage in this area and it’s been awesome,” said Julie Rockcastle, one of the festival’s founders. “This new space allows more room for bigger bands and a larger audience.”
Rounding out the undercard for Great Blue Heron Music Festival are improvisational rocker Stolen Gin, the ever-soulful Joclyn and the Sweet Compression, Canadian Cajun-zydeco band Le Winston, Vancouver’s The Town Pants,, and Binghamton folk-rockers Driftwood, as well as Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, Jim Donovan’s Sun King Warriors, Tan & Sober Gentlemen, Rasta Rafiki, and more.
