Last year’s Gamehenge production raised the bar for Phish’s New Year’s Eve gags, as if it wasn’t already high enough. The previous year saw Phish return to the Garden for its first NYE run since the pandemic put the kibosh on 2020 and 2021. In 2022, the band celebrated its 40th anniversary with a time machine set that offered fans a retrospective of the jam giants’ singular career, with references and call-backs to past New Year’s gags and other memorable milestones.
