Billie Eilish and Charli XCX have had enormous years in 2024, releasing acclaimed albums, selling out arenas, and climbing the ranks of pop music’s biggest names. Among the biggest windfalls for both artists was the hit remix of Charli’s frisky “Guess” featuring an added verse by Billie, but until last night, the two stars had not performed the song together live. That changed when XCX popped out with Eilish under Brat-green lights midway through the latter’s Tuesday night show at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum.
Charli XCX originally released “Guess” on her zeitgeist-defining June 2024 LP, Brat, and later recruited Eilish to add her verse on subsequent October remix collection Brat and It’s Completely Different but Also Still Brat. The thumping “Guess” remix arrived alongside an eye-catching music video featuring mountains of underwear and Eilish bulldozing through the wall of a house party. Both artists had perviously performed the song during their respective headlining shows prior to their first joint live rendition.
The track eventually earned Charli XCX and Billie Eilish a Grammy Award nomination for Best Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the upcoming 2025 ceremony. For Billie, the “Guess” nomination joins her six additional 2025 Grammy nods for her own 2024 album, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, including Album of the Year, Song of the Year (“BIRDS OF A FEATHER”), and Record of the Year (“BIRDS OF A FEATHER”). Same goes for Charli, who’s up for six additional awards including Album of the Year (Brat) and Record of the Year (“360”). Both Billie Eilish and Charli XCX have busy touring schedules ahead of them. Billie will round out the North American leg of her HIT ME HARD AND SOFT TOUR with two more nights at Kia Forum later this week before taking the production overseas for shows in Europe, Australia, and more next year.
