With six shows down and twelve left to go, John Mayer took to social media to reflect on the magic of Dead & Company’s 2025 Dead Forever Sphere residency and the deep connection shared among the band and fans each night.

“What a couple of weekends at Sphere with Dead & Company,” he began. “It’s hard to explain the connections that take place at these shows. From Thursday afternoon to late Saturday night, we all meet up in the same dream, have the best times imaginable with 17,000 of our friends, and then…we all crash out on couches on Sunday, somehow still connected by what we experienced.”

Mayer continued, “There’s nothing like this,” adding, “Can’t wait for next liftoff on April 17… huge thanks to Treatment Studio for upping the content game *again*. And there’s more to come… 💀🌹⚡️”

With the first two weekends complete, Dead & Company are making the most of their return to Sphere, building on last year’s groundbreaking shows with even more intricate visuals, deep improvisation, and fresh additions to the setlist. So far, the band has debuted several new covers, including Eric Clapton‘s “Lay Down Sally”, Robbie Robertson‘s “Broken Arrow”, and The Spencer Davis Group‘s “Gimme Some Lovin’”. They have also offered near-nightly tributes to late Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh, closing out the first weekend with an emotional rendition of his signature song, “Box of Rain”.

After a brief break—during which Eagles will take over Sphere—Dead & Company will return on Thursday, April 17th, for four more three-show weekends. Find a full list of upcoming dates and ticketing information here.
