Legendary Grateful Dead tribute band Dark Star Orchestra have announced an interesting lineup change along their November tour schedule. The band, which is celebrating its 17-year anniversary on this day, will perform with keyboardist Jeff Chimenti for two nights later this month.

DSO was founded on 11/11/1997, having since played over 2,300 shows – more than the Grateful Dead themselves. Chimenti, meanwhile, has performed with Bob Weir & Ratdog, Furthur and The Dead in his illustrious career.

As DSO bassist Skip Vangelas is unable to perform on November 21st (in Providence, RI) and 22nd (in Wallingford, CT), regular DSO keyboardist Rob Barraco will be filling in on bass, and Chimenti will be joining the band on keys. The band’s fall tour kicks off tomorrow night in Buffalo, NY. For more details, head to the DSO official website.
