[Originally published 11/17/25; Updated 11/26/25]: The Detroit Lions of the National Football League (NFL) will play their 86th annual Thanksgiving Day Classic game on Thursday, November 27th against the Green Bay Packers, featuring a halftime show by Jack White, the Detroit native, 12-time Grammy Award-winner, and recent Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee (as one-half of The White Stripes).
The Dallas Cowboys, who also customarily play each year on Thanksgiving Day, will this year host both the Kansas City Chiefs and a halftime show headlined by Post Malone, the multi-genre hitmaker with Texas roots. Later in the evening in Baltimore, MD, Atlanta rap/crunk legend Lil Jon will perform at halftime of the Cincinnati Bengals vs. Baltimore Ravens Thanksgiving game.
In Detroit, fellow native son Eminem will serve as an executive producer of the Thanksgiving Day Classic halftime show alongside his longtime manager/Shady Records president Paul Rosenberg and Jesse Collins Entertainment. Decorated gospel singer CeCe Winans will also return to her home city of Detroit to sing the national anthem before the game. The Detroit Lions will be supporting a donation-based initiative with Feeding America that will be featured throughout the game. Verizon, the sponsor of the halftime show, will also help the local community fight food insecurity by giving fans the chance to pack hunger-relief kits outside of Ford Field on game day. The activation will take place in the Detroit Lions pregame tailgate space Pride Plaza on Brush Street between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Find tickets to the game here.
The Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Classic presented by Ford will be nationally televised on FOX at 1:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, November 27th.
Later in the afternoon in the Lone Star State, local export Post Malone will headline the 29th Red Kettle Kickoff halftime show during the Dallas Cowboys‘ annual Thanksgiving game at AT&T Stadium. Each year, the show marks the official start of The Salvation Army’s annual holiday campaign, encouraging donations that support communities in need across the country.
“I’m from Texas. I grew up a Cowboys fan and have been watching this halftime show for years,” Post said in a statement. “It’s a real honor to be part of the Red Kettle Kickoff with The Salvation Army and the Dallas Cowboys and help bring hope to so many people.” Watch the Cowboys vs. Chiefs Thanksgiving Day game at 4:30 p.m. ET on CBS or stream it live on Paramount+.
