Grahame Lesh will take over The Capitol Theatre again for a 2026 edition of Unbroken Chain, a four-night celebration of his dad. The return of Unbroken Chain: A Celebration Of The Life & Music Of Phil Lesh will continue the late Grateful Dead bassist’s tradition of hosting a residency in Port Chester, NY, for his birthday [get tickets].
Set for March 12th–15th, 2026, Unbroken Chain will present four uniquely impressive lineups from across the universe of Phil Lesh collaborators. Phil’s son Grahame will lead the festivities, beginning on Thursday, March 12th, with a lineup consisting of guitarists Daniel Donato and Luther Dickinson (North Mississippi All-Stars), bassist Trevor Weekz (Goose), keyboardists Aron Magner (The Disco Biscuits) and Cory Henry, drummer John Molo (Phil & Friends), vocalists Alex Koford and Amy Helm, and harpist/vocalist Mikaela Davis.
The run will continue on Friday, March 13th, with Donato, bassist Oteil Burbridge (Dead & Company), keyboardists Bill Payne (Little Feat) and Jason Crosby (Phil & Friends), drummer Tony Leone (Chris Robinson Brotherhood), Davis, Helm, and singer-songwriter Maggie Rose. The following night, March 14th, Grahame will welcome guitarist Rick Mitarotonda (Goose), Burbridge, keyboardists Holly Bowling and Crosby, drummers Nathan Graham and Molo, and vocalists Helm, Rose, and Kanika Moore.
Finally, the 2026 Unbroken Chain run will conclude on Sunday, March 15th, which would have marked Phil’s 86th birthday. To honor the occasion, Grahame will host bassist Dave Schools (Widespread Panic), guitarist Stanley Jordan, keyboardists Steve Molitz (Particle) and Bowling, drummers Cody Dickinson (North Mississippi All-Stars) and Leone, and vocalists Helm and Moore.
“We had a beautiful, emotional celebration at the Cap last March,” Grahame wrote on Instagram, “which established such a beautiful new tradition at a place that has become like a 2nd home for my dad and my family in the past 13 years or so. I’m so grateful to all of these beautiful musicians on these lineups – my dad’s friends (& Friends!), bandmates, collaborators, and this year some wonderful musicians who never got to play with my dad but are an integral part of keeping this music moving forward. We have folks who played extensively in Phil & Friends in 1998 and in 2024 joining us, and of course many special guests, some of whom go back even farther than that!”
