It appears that Kanye West is the latest target of the “hacktivist entity” known as Anonymous. The recently posted video, shows someone wearing a Guy Fawkes mask (Remember, Remember, the 5th of November….) giving Kanye a verbal lashing, calling him a “Chicago-born, spoiled little brat” that has no place comparing himself to the likes of Michaelangelo, Copernicus, DaVinci, Chaucer, Machiavelli, and many others that “were impactful, but [had] actually done things to revolutionize the way we think and understand our world”.
Referring to his recent Beck debacle (and snubbing of Taylor Swift a few years back): “You always have to steal the moment from others that work equally as hard for their recognition, and you assume and even expect everyone else to be aligned with your personal opinions….you’re like a spoiled child in a grown man’s body, who is ready to set off a boiling temper tantrum the very moment you don’t get the things you want.”
They even bring up Kim Kardashian‘s recent nude photos, her fame due to the sex tapes “a woman who skates through life from the praise and worship fueled by the leak of a sex tape on the internet…”, how his mother would react to his behavior, and what his daughter will have to potentially put up with while growing up as a result of both her parent’s decisions in life.
While the video hasn’t in fact been claimed by Anonymous at this point, if there is any truth in the statement that Anonymous is “sounding off the new Renaissance Era this year for humanity” then perhaps this marks a temporary transition from going after government regimes, multi-billion dollar corporations, and the likes (which most people seem to ignore anyway) to going after celebrities and artists that tend to have much more of an impact on societal values.
