As various reports seem to indicate that some of the Grateful Dead members are interested in adding more shows, Tales of the Golden Road host David Gans invited well-known promoter Peter Shapiro onto his program to discuss the topic. The show also included a call-in from fan Rick Kline, who has been petitioning for all involved to bring ‘Fare Thee Well’ to the East Coast.

Bill Kreutzmann Wants More Grateful Dead Shows

While Shapiro provided no definitive answers, some of his comments were certainly open ended enough to include the possibility of future shows. “There will be more ‘stuff,’ there will be more stuff of scale like Trixie said… There will be more events. There’s no one looking at all of those 70,000 people and thinking it’s not going to happen again. In some shape or form obviously – with that exact lineup I highly doubt – but we’ll see. There’s definitely going to be more large events.”

He continued, saying, “That energy, that was not normal. It was unlike anyone has ever seen. There’s two sides to this, there’s the pull of ‘we want more of that’ but there’s also everything went right and I know enough to know that doesn’t always happen.”
