Having recently turned thirteen, Brandon “Taz” Niederauer has taken 2016 by storm. Between starring in the Broadway production School of Rock and acting in a new independent film alongside Col. Bruce Hampton, the teenage guitar hero still finds time to do what he loves most: play guitar.
On Sunday, April 10, one of Niederauer’s many dreams came true as he took the floor of Madison Square Garden to perform before 19,000 basketball fans for the New York Knicks halftime show. Having won the “Kidz Bop Talent Search” a few weeks before, the venue invited him back to play again for the season closer. He brought his brother Dylan on bass, and drummer-friend Raghav Mehrotah to play the Jimi Hendrix classic, “Voodoo Child.”
