Earlier this year, jam powerhouse Widespread Panic treated fans at Norfolk, VA’s Chrysler Hall Theatre to a high-energy show featuring a number of rare covers. In addition to Neil Young‘s “Heart of Gold”, Led Zeppelin‘s “D’yer Maker”, War‘s “Four Cornered Room”, and an instrumental take on Jimi Hendrix‘s “Machine Gun”, the band used their classic original “Proving Ground” as a launching pad for Black Sabbath‘s ode to Mary Jane, “Sweet Leaf”, from their 1971 album Master of Reality.

Today, Panic released pro-shot video of the “Proving Ground”/”Sweet Leaf” sandwich, so we can all watch John Bell tackle Ozzy Osbourne‘s vocals like a pro. Check it out:

Despite recently saying that they would be toning down their famously heavy touring schedule in 2017, the band shows no signs of slowing down this year, with a 20-date summer tour, a 21-date fall tour (including two shows at the new Amphitheater At Coney Island Boardwalk in Coney Island, Brooklyn on September 9th and 10th), and a three-night Nashville New Year’s run on the docket.
