In his recent auto-biography, Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann said that the band “always blew the big ones.” One such “big one” was the Dead’s appearance at Woodstock, though there was certainly a lot of great music to celebrate at the famed 1969 festival. Despite the Dead’s big show woes, bassist Phil Lesh will honor the esteemed musical experience with a performance at Terrapin Crossroads.
Dubbed “Return to Aquarius: A Day of Peace, Love & Music celebrating Woodstock 1969,” the event will see Lesh team up with an all-star rotating cast of musicians that includes Stanley Jordan, David Nelson, Stu Allen, Melvin Seals, John Molo, Barry Sless, Adam MacDougall, Grahame Lesh & Midnight North, members of San Geronimo, Ross James, Alex Koford, and other special guests. There will also be a tribute set to Jerry Garcia.
It all goes down on August 13th, and more information can be found in the full announcement below.
