Music, running, and beer: a seemingly unlikely combination. However, The Brew Hop, a brand new event coming to NYC next weekend, has managed to seamlessly fuse the three elements into one stacked day. Beginning with a 5K race and concluding with music provided by the High and Mighty Brass Band and Argonaut&Wasp, along with craft beer from more than a dozen local breweries included in the ticket price, this is sure to be a unique and exciting event. The Brew Hop will take place on Sunday, September 18th at Randall’s Island. Tickets are available here.
The day kicks off strong with a 5K race, which attendees are welcome to either run or walk. Following the race, patrons will be rewarded for their hard work with unlimited beer, along with a medal, a souvenir pint glass, a beer koozie, and access to the festival for the rest of the day.
Brass favorites the High and Mighty Brass Band will provide high-energy, New Orleans-style funk, while Brooklyn-based Argonaut&Wasp will kick the party into gear with a DJ set.
The event’s featured breweries include Brooklyn Brewery, Sixpoint Brewery, SingleCut Beersmiths, Third Rail Beer, Bronx Brewery, Gun Hill Brewing Company, Rockaway Brewing, KelSo Beer Company, Alphabet City Brewing, Blue Point Brewing Company, Great South Bay Brewery, Captain Lawrence Brewing Company and more TBA. The festival will also feature food provided by Bareburger, Ponti Rossi, and Blossom Ice Cream, as well as live music, lawn games, a photobooth, art installations, lounge areas, and more.
A portion of proceeds will go towards benefitting City Harvest, a great organization that helps feed more than one million New Yorkers facing hunger each year. There will also be a food drive on-site for attendees who wish to bring nonperishable food items to donate.
