Keyboard wizard Steve Molitz has been at the helm of Particle since the band began, interestingly enough, at a Phish after-party in California at the very beginning of the 1.0 era hiatus back in 2000. Particle, along with The Disco Biscuits, STS9, and Lotus, was one of the first acts to blend the jam and electronic genres together, creating the livetronica sub-genre at the onset of the new millennium. With the release of Launchpad and Transformations Live, Particle took on a life of its own, playing and touring with the Grateful Dead’s Mickey Hart and Phil Lesh, Robby Krieger of The Doors, Joe Satriani, Blackalicious, The String Cheese Incident’s Michael Kang, and many more. Purchase tickets here.
