Andy Falco, the Grammy-winning multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter best known as one-fifth of The Infamous Stringdusters, is back this week with the release of his new solo album The Will of the Way via Americana Vibes.
The Will of the Way, which arrives on streaming platforms on Friday, July 16th, marks Falco’s first full-length solo effort since 2007’s Sentenced To Life With The Blues.

The Will of the Way stems from a number of songs that Falco had already started prior to the pandemic, but much of it was written during what he refers to as “the great pause” of 2020. As Falco tells Live For Live Music, “The pandemic that forced most of us to pause our lives also allowed us the time and space to look inward, and to assess our lives as a whole. I spent a lot of time looking inward, and started diving deeper in songwriting, singing, and being more closely connected to my songs.”
In addition to playing multiple parts on several tracks and diving into the personal intentions and emotions imbued in his songwriting, Falco recruited a number of musicians from his native Long Island to write and record the new material. The Will of the Way features fellow Long Island natives like Falco’s brother, Patrick Falco (bass), as well as Jon Preddice, and Chris Marshak.
The album also features a slew of talented contributors from beyond Falco’s local scene including Massachusetts-based singer Erica Leigh on several songs as well as Guster’s Dave Butler (on “The Edge”), organist Damian Calcagne (on “The Edge”), The Travelin’ McCourys banjoist Cody Kilby (on “Wings Upon Our Feet”), drummer Joe Russo (on “Stones Unturned” and “Proof Is In The Pudding”), and hit-making vocalist Joss Stone (on “Proof Is In The Pudding”).
