During the summer of 2016, the Grateful Dead-inspired ensemble, Dead & Company, embarked on their first-ever summer tour. Following the previous summer’s Fare Thee Well 50th anniversary concerts and Dead & Company’s fall tour, the group was just beginning to grow into itself as a touring unit. On July 30th, o close out their final date of their summer 2016 tour, the band hit Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California. While the performance was a solid showing from start to finish, one of the most special moments of the night came during drums, when famed NBA player and beloved Deadhead Bill Walton joined the Rhythm Devils—composed of original Grateful Dead drummers Bill Kreutzmann and Mickey Hart along with bassist Oteil Burbridge—during drums.
