There’s nothing quite like a Friday night at the Brooklyn Bowl! On January 29, Live For Live Music presents Break Science Live Band with members of Lettuce for a night of trip-hop/dub/jazz vibes and thunderous breakbeats all around. Rahzel of The Roots will also be on hand to lend his rap/beatboxing skills, along with CX and Bajah.

Break Science’s Adam Deitch and Borahm Lee wholeheartedly represent the rhythm and culture of New York City. Together, they organically fuse generations of the city’s dense musical legacies with their own deep-rooted influences of the hip-hop heritage. Both seasoned professionals and at the top of their game, the beats are locked and loaded by the driving forces of drummer/percussionist Adam Deitch and the tickling effects of Borahm’s jazz-infused, dubbing trip-hop keyboard numbers and Ableton Live. Take a listen to a crowd-favorite ‘Brain Reaction’:

Joining the vibe conductors are members of Lettuce, rhythmic bass-god Erick “Jesus” Coomes, funk-fondling guitarist Adam Smirnoff, and the sonic freedom and infectious energy of The Shady Horns‘ saxophonist Ryan Zoidis and trumpeter Eric Bloom. It’s no secret that when these cats get together, it’s a complete throwdown.

Also adding to the crew’s bill is electro soul, future-funk, beat extraordinaire Marvel Years and cosmic vibe conductor Dreamers Delight. Check out the smooth builds of Marvel’s ‘Shining Star’ Remix below:
