After making a name for herself touring with Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, Bronwyn Keith-Hynes is striking out on her own with an impressive new Grammy-nominated solo record, I Built A World, featuring everyone from new grass pioneer Sam Bush to country star Dierks Bentley. She also recently got married to fellow fiddler Jason Carter of The Del McCoury Band and The Travelin’ McCourys in a very special ceremony at The Grand Ole Opry House.
“We just kept meeting through festivals, bluegrass festivals, kind of all around the country really,” Keith-Hynes said of her beau. The pair is one of the only couples to ever tie the knot at Nashville’s historic home of the Grand Ole Opry, and the wedding party had the makings of a killer band, with Molly Tuttle, banjoist Brenna MacMillan, bassist Shelby Means, and country blues singer Cristina Vane joining her, plus fiddle phenom Michael Cleveland and Del McCoury Band/Travelin’ McCourys bassist Alan Bartram standing with Jason alongside Bronwyn’s brother Aidan Keith-Hynes and Jason’s brother Jeff Carter.
“We were just thinking about unconventional wedding venues and trying to find a place that was special to both of us, and we both played the Opry a lot over the years, especially Jason. Del McCurry is an Opry member, so he’s been playing there for years. I don’t think hardly anyone else has ever gotten married on the stage there. I think they said maybe one staff member had gotten married there once before, but that was maybe it.”

Much like the wedding, Keith-Hynes’ recent album, I Built A World, gathers an impressive flock of talent including Jerry Douglas, Molly Tuttle, Brit Taylor, Darrell Scott, and Dudley Connell in addition to her hubby Jason Carter and the aforementioned Sam Bush and Dierks Bentley. The LP marks Keith-Hynes’ vocal debut and features classic songs, though she said she has already started writing new original material that she’ll incorporate into her band’s live shows when they hit the road in support of the album this winter.
Keith-Hynes credited Molly Tuttle with helping to motivate her to lead her own band. “In the last couple of years I’ve been really inspired by playing in Molly Tuttle’s band, seeing a really amazing front woman leading a band and singing songs and stuff,” she told L4LM. “Being in her band is really what inspired me to want to do more of my own stuff as well.”
Released in May, I Built A World has been met with praise from critics and landed Keith-Hynes a nomination for Best Bluegrass Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards—an award she won last year with Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway for City Of Gold. This adds to a growing list of accolades that also includes two awards for Fiddle Player of The Year from The International Bluegrass Music Association.

“I’m really excited about the Grammy nomination,” she said. “That’s just kind of huge and I honestly never expected that from putting out my album independently, which is just kind of very unusual and I’m just really thrilled about it. So that’s the big thing I’m excited about for 2025.”
In addition to playing on the album, Dierks Bentley recently recruited Keith-Hynes to perform with him alongside Molly Tuttle and Sierra Hull at the CMA Awards. The four closed out the ceremony with “American Girl” in tribute to Tom Petty, backed by Bentley’s band.
“I have known Dierks for a little while. Molly and the band opened for him a couple years ago, and he would have us up to sit in with his band on those gigs,” she said. “He did a duet with me for my album on a song called ‘Trip Around the Sun’, and he’s just been a big supporter of bluegrass. He seems like really involved in the bluegrass scene. I’ve seen him at [Telluride Bluegrass Festival] and hung out with him a little bit. I guess he was just wanting to bring a little bluegrass to the CMAs, which I think is awesome. I think some of those country people might not know about it or really know what it’s all about, but when they hear it, they really like it.”
Alongside Molly Tuttle and fellow bluegrass trailblazers Sierra Hull and Sierra Ferrell, Bronwyn Keith-Hynes has emerged as a standout force in a wave of female talent, adding depth and diversity to the bluegrass revival spearheaded by Billy Strings and other chart-topping luminaries. She is gearing up for a series of festival appearances and headlining shows starting in February, all while maintaining her busy touring schedule with Golden Highway.
