Althea Grace is young singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist currently taking the Chicago area by storm, with her sights set on the world. She has grown up immersed in music, sharing the stage with Los Lobos since the age of eight and touring with guitar heavyweight Doyle Bramhall II over the last year with her band, Future Stuff. Althea’s music can best be described as new-age pop/blues with heavy doses of jazz and soul, featuring her powerfully soulful voice and guitar chops to match.
On December 1st, Althea will release her brand new EP, Dreamers, marking her first solo release since the 2015 self-release of her album Running The Show. Dreamers was produced by Doyle Bramhall II, recorded at Cartoon Moon Recording in Nashville, TN, and mixed by Cian Riordan at Barefoot Recording in Los Angeles, CA.
Today, ahead of the release of Dreamers Live For Live Music is happy to premiere a brand new single from the EP, the final track, “Blow Them All Away”. As Althea explains, “‘Blow Them All Away’ was my favorite song to write. It’s personal and powerful and an incredible introduction into my new music. I am so very excited for people to hear it.”
Growing up the daughter of music lovers in a city filled with talent, music quickly became Althea’s sole passion in life. Before even learning to drive, Althea began sharing the stage with many notable bands such as Los Lobos, X Ambassadors, and The Shins. Dreamers includes guitar work from Bramhall, bass from Ted Pecchio, piano from Andrew Tufano, keys and piano from Robbie Cromwell, and drums from Ken Coomer, an original member of Wilco.
In 2016, her duo Future Stuff released their debut EP. She has spent much of the last year touring the country with Future Stuff as a supporting act for Bramhall and Los Lobos. As Sheryl Crow raved about Althea via social media, “Saw a young duo called Future Stuff last night at City Winery Nashville. They blew me away! Check them out!!”
