Earlier this week, the non-profit organization HeadCount made history by throwing their biggest event yet. Dubbed the DNC Convention Jam, an all-star lineup featuring Grace Potter, Dawes and Mutlu. Not only that, but Marc Brownstein and Peter Shapiro spoke to the gathered crowd, encouraging citizens to get out and vote! Among those in attendance were Senator Patrick Leahy, Rep. Linda Sanchez and Joe Crowley, as well as John Popper, Patterson Hood and the Drive-By Truckers, Tom Hamilton, Mike Greenfield and Jesse Miller of Lotus, Los Lobos, and Amos Lee.

The event was produced by CID Entertainment, and smoothly ran between powerful speakers and powerful performers. Held at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia, PA, by all accounts this was a smashing success.

HeadCount Executive Director Andy Bernstein spoke to us about the event, saying “The Convention Jams – at both the Republican and Democratic conventions – were huge for HeadCount. Robert Randolph just rocked it in Cleveland. And then Grace Potter blew the roof off in Philly. These were nights we’ll never forget.” He added, “The highlight for me was how everyone really coalesced around our message and mission.”
