On Thursday, December 10th, some of jam and livetronica’s finest came together at the Emporium Arcade Bar in Chicago as Supernatural Beings for a superjam of epic proportions. The energy soared through the roof as Joel Cummins (Umphrey’s McGee), Clay Parnell (Particle/Brothers Past/American Babies), Marcus Rezak (Digital Tape Machine/Stratosphere All-Stars), Todd Stoops (RAQ/Oktopus), Nicholas Gerlach (Turbo Suit), Emily Nichols (Woo Park), Christian Rogala (Fluid Minds) and Jeff Peterson (Turbo Suit) joined forces for the one-night throwdown.

The Chicago Funk Mafia opened to get things going for the sold-out crowd. Then Supernatural Beings took the stage, flowing with organic improvisation, high level listening and exploratory jams. Covers of “Debra” by Beck and “Kiss” by Prince really took the crowd and stage energy to a 12.

Check out some shots from the evening, as captured by Kristine Condon, with a full gallery at the bottom.
