On Halloween night, and on the three nights that followed, Phish returned to the MGM Grand Garden Arena for the final run of their fall tour in Las Vegas. As you’ve probably heard by now, Phish trolled their Halloween audience by “covering” an obscure (read: fake) album by a fictional band. They followed that up with three more excellent shows to close the tour.
Thankfully, Phierce Photography’s Keith Griner was on the ground in Sin City to capture the magic of Phish’s four-night run in Vegas. In the wake of the memorable Las Vegas stint, Griner has compiled his favorite images from throughout the run to share with his fellow fans. As Keith explains about his particularly notable Las Vegas experience,
Phish was the first concert I ever attended without adult supervision. I was 16 at the time—the show was at Deer Creek, 6/19/95. … This Vegas run was special to me, as I also celebrated 11 years of sobriety on October 31st during the Halloween performance. There’s nowhere I would rather celebrate than with Phish and my sober phamily in the Phellowship, Phish’s sober group. I don’t really remember any of the shows I went to for my first 8 years as a Phish fan. I’ll never forget this Vegas run, and that fact couldn’t make me happier. My life is such a blessing now.
