Pitchfork Music Festival is set to return to Union Park for its 12th installment this weekend, from July 14-16th, 2017. As usual, the lineup is filled with eclectic artists both old and new, ranging across an array of genres. With such a well-curated lineup and easy access between the festival’s three stages, Pitchfork has proven time and time again to be an indie music fan’s paradise.

Friday night brings LCD Soundsystem and their reunion tour that shows no signs of letting up. Unlike last year’s summer performances, the dance rock band comes armed with an entire new album of material. Earlier in the night, the crowd will have plenty of opportunity to get riled up thanks to Danny Brown and Vince Staples, two of the hottest names in hip-hop.

The hip-hop continues Saturday night with headliners A Tribe Called Quest. The legendary group will down a member in Phife Dawg, but if recent TV performances are any indication, a powerful performance will be delivered. Those arriving earlier can take in the synth-filled sounds of SURVIVE, creators of the Stranger Things soundtrack. Later in the day, alternative rock songstress PJ Harvey and funk progenitor George Clinton will show why they are timeless acts.

The festival will be closed by Solange, who is hot on the heels of her much lauded A Seat at the Table album. Throughout the weekend, Solange and Saint Heron House will be hosting multiple events outside of the festival, including film and poetry discussions. There will be no shortage of dance music on the final day of Pitchfork, thanks to the experimental sounds of Nicolas Jaar and a rare performance by Australia psychedelic sample enigmas The Avalanches.
