Over the past few years, Claude VonStroke’s Dirtybird Records has become one of the biggest brands in dance music. With a roster full of like-minded producers putting out a constant slew of bangers, it feels like anything with the Dirtybird name on it strikes gold. Look no further than the Dirtybird BBQ which took off on a coast to coast tour last summer, as well as the blossoming careers of Justin Martin, J Phlip, and Ardalan to name a few.
So it was no surprise that a large crowd came out on Thursday night to see label head Claude VonStroke take the decks at Output, along with Dirtybird up and comer Kill Frenzy. With an early set, Kill Frenzy eased into the room, really hitting his stride at around midnight, beginning to bring in booming bass and bring the party up to full speed. The German born DJ is primed to break out this year on the heels of several strong releases and top notch sets across the country.
Claude VonStroke is no stranger to Output, having performed there several times in the past. His signature sound of heavy bass and catchy house are perfect for Output’s massive sound system. Claude’s set was predictably awesome, throwing in tracks from the recently released Dirtybird 10 Year Anniversary Compilation, along with his usual stream of classics and unreleased cuts. The Dirtybird sound has been influential in the careers of many over the past decade, and you can hear why in every one of Claude’s sets. It’s catchy and hypnotizing. It makes you almost zone out dancing.
The ‘Dirtybird 10’ compilation is available now and can previewed here.
