Last night, Umphrey’s McGee continued on their winter tour by bringing the heat down to Columbia, SC. Umphrey’s was in fine form at the intimate Music Farm venue, and even treated fans to a couple of classic rock covers throughout the night.
The first set started off with a smokin’ “Flamethrower” which gave way into “Educated Guess.” The first cover of the night came out in set one, as the group rocked the Talking Heads’ classic “Girlfriend Is Better.” That jammed straight into “Prowler,” giving rise to tunes like “Syncopated Strangers,” “Spires > No Diablo,” and “Mulche’s Odyssey” to close out the set.
Set two kept the energy alive with big jams like “FF -> Mail Package > Kimble,” but the encore was what blew everyone away. The band brought out a cover of Derek & The Dominoes’ “Layla” to conclude this magical performance.
