Skrillex has started off 2014 with a bang, taking over four major cities around the world – San Francisco, Brooklyn, Amsterdam, and Barcelona. For a week at a time, the superstar DJ has been setting up shop in a city, performing at a different venue each night. The Brooklyn stop saw give completely different venues house bass shattering beats – Brooklyn Bowl, Music Hall of Williamsburg, SRB Brooklyn, Output, and a secret warehouse (how Brooklyn of him).

Playing five nights in a row in the same city may sound repetitive, but Skrillex pledged to play different setlists each night. The superfans who braved ‘Skrillex Tour’ were rewarded by seeing the producers true DJ skills – proving to doubters that he’s a more than just a one trick pony. He played each room a little differently, playing to the crowd, but still dropping the crowd pleasing classics like ‘Scary Monsters and Scary Sprites’ and his remix of Benny Bennasi’s ‘Cinema’.

Each night had its own special touches – Brooklyn Bowl is one of the last venues you’d expect to see Skrillex, but the crowds packed in and hit the lanes, filling the dance floor to the very back. The producer debuted a new collaboration with Chance The Rapper at the show that has set the internet ablaze. Output’s Funktion One sound system provided the greatest audio experience of the week; Skrillex’s songs in a smallish room with that soundsystem was just mindblowing. It also felt like the DJ mixed in a fair share of house music into his set to fit Output’s vibe. At the warehouse party – Skrillex teased the crowd with a Deadmau5-like mask.

While each night had its own little touches, there was one thing that stayed the same – Skrillex tore the roof down from five different Brooklyn venues. The producer weaved together five different sets, mixing together modern radio hits, hip hop, and his own classics to wow five different crowds. Few acts can impress crowds that have seem the same performer five days in a row, and Skrillex has added his name to the list.
