With a lineup containing some of the foremost bands in their respective genres, this past weekend’s Red Rocks gig with Snarky Puppy, Billy and the Kids and Railroad Earth delivered an incredible evening of music at one of the country’s most majestic and legendary concert venues.
Grammy award-winning jazz/funk collective Snarky Puppy kicked things off on an upbeat note at their debut Red Rocks show, getting the crowd going with their high energy and powerful sound.

That wasn’t the end for the Snarky Puppy guys, as members of the band joined both Billy and the Kids and Railroad Earth’s sets later in the night. Billy K first got a little help from Railroad Earth’s Tim Carbone on fiddle on a cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Me and My Uncle,” while the Snarky horn section joined on later to cover the Dead’s “Loose Lucy.”

Red Rocks veterans Railroad Earth followed with two marvelous sets to conclude the evening. The Snarky horns once again came out to help close second set with RRE originals “Hard Livin'” and “Take a Bow,” followed by an encore of the Dead’s “Terrapin Station.”
