Minneapolis-based band Soap has been laying down some serious dance-infused rock and roll, impressing fans with energetic live performances and creative original music. The group is gearing up for their brand new album release, The Life We Live, which focuses on emulating the highs and lows of daily life through musical soundscapes.
With the new album due out on April 26th, the band is eager to show off some of their music. Fortunately, we’re delighted to share a brand new single from The Life We Live. Listen to “Hard To Change” below.
We asked guitarist Erich Krapf to tell us a little more about the song. “‘Hard to Change’ is about self reflection and trying to make the best out of the mess you’ve made. At the surface it’s a dark song, but I also look at the lyrics in a positive light, there’s still a chance for change. It’s about looking deep within to see if you can come out on the other side of what you’re dealing with.” His cousin, pianist Sklyer Krapf, added, “Lyrically this song can be summed up in a few words: advice, observation, and sympathy.”
If “Hard To Change” is any indication, this is sure to be a great album! Of course, there are a number of opportunities to celebrate with the band, including upcoming shows with Twiddle and Jon Wayne & The Pain in the Midwest. They’re also celebrating the album release with a party on April 23rd at The Cabooze in Minneapolis, MN, so don’t miss out!
