The music of Vulfpeck is special, but it’s especially exciting to see it performed by different artists around the world. We’ve seen it done by a college a cappella group, a French horn section, and now we get to enjoy it one more time performed by an enormous choir across the pond. There are 380 people in the London City Voices, a non-audition, non-religious, multi-branch choir based in London.
“Most of the people you see singing in the video don’t read music or do music for a profession. I like to inspire them and keep their minds open to music they wouldn’t usually hear on the radio. Vulfpeck were perfect for that!” explained Ben Swan, the Assistant Director to the program, who also organized the Vulfy arrangement in 2016. “I’m a big fan of changing up the style of songs choirs usually perform. My dad, Richard (the genius behind London City Voices) tends to arrange more traditional songs, so I try to keep things different and fresh!”. Indeed, this is about as fresh as it gets.
“I chose the song because I think it’s a corker of a track, and I’m a little bit bored of the classic Christmas pop tunes you hear on the radio all the time. It was time to introduce people in my network to a new type of festive song,” Swan told us.
