There’s a feeling of infectious soul whenever The Nth Power has the chance to perform. The group has an undeniable chemistry, with luminaries like Nikki Glaspie, Weedie Braimah, Nate Edgar, Courtney J’Mell Smith and Nick Cassarino leading the charge. As Cassarino recently told us, “The Nth Power is like an equation. It represents something that’s infinite…like an infinite power. It’s limitless potential.” There’s no denying that this band always brings the funk!
Recently, the group found themselves paired with Dopapod for a major tour schedule. Along the way, both groups stopped at the famed Echo Mountain Recording Studios to participate in the web series, the Echo Sessions. The high-quality videos are prized among music fans eager to hear some of their favorite bands throwing it down.
The Nth Power’s “Echo Session” did not disappoint, as they worked songs new and old into their potent performance. We’re delighted to premiere video of a track from their 2015 album, Abundance, for your viewing pleasure. Tune in to “Only You,” below:
We asked drummer Nikki Glaspie to tell us a bit more about the session. She said, “We love Echo Mountain – great guys, great space, great studio sound. This is a song that was on our first EP, Basic Minimum Skills Test, that we reproduced for our debut full-length album Abundance. We hope you enjoy our live in-studio performance!”
