Starting this Thursday, the funk army Turkuaz will be hitting the Brooklyn Bowl for three straight nights of hometown grooves! Blending elements of Pop, R&B, and Soul, with their distinct aggressive funk core, Turkuaz sounds like the musical love child of Sly & the Family Stone and Talking Heads. The band’s live energy is on another level, as all nine members come together for some great music.

Touring on the heels of their recently-released album, Digitonium, these three shows are sure to be something special. With support from Lespecial on night one, Chromatropic on night two, and Sidewalk Chalk for the finale, we’re beyond excited for all of the music. Not only that, but Turkuaz is performing a tribute to The Band on night two, and are planning some special surprise sit-ins throughout the run.

In celebration, we’ve teamed up with Turkuaz for a “Countdown To The Bowl” series, where we’ll be releasing pro-shot live videos from Turkuaz’s past Brooklyn Bowl performances. The first comes from the band’s set at 9/29/15, as the group launches into a potently funky “Nightswimming” to keep the crowd raging. The Digitonium track is sure to make you want to get up and boogie!

Watch the pro-shot “Nightswimming” below:

Turkuaz’s three-night stand kicks off this Thursday, April 7th, and runs through the 9th. You can find tickets for all three shows via the Brooklyn Bowl website. Don’t miss out!
