Happy birthday Henrietta! The one and only Jon Fishman, drummer of Phish, celebrates his 57th birthday today, February 19th. What better way to celebrate the maniacal drummer than with a compilation of some of his greatest Phish moments. While there are seriously too many Fishman songs to count, let alone his incredible drumming technique that helps drive the band, we wanted to spotlight some of his more-ridiculous moments.
Without further ado, here are some of the best Fishman-led sing-a-longs in the Phish repertoire:
Phish – “Purple Rain” (Prince) – 7/4/12
Phish – “Cracklin’ Rosie” (Neil Diamond) – 8/14/96
Phish – “Gettin’ Jiggy With It” (Will Smith) – 11/20/98
Phish – “Bike” (Syd Barrett) – 9/4/15
Phish – “Sexual Healing” (Marvin Gaye) – 8/16/98
Phish – “Touch Me” (The Doors) – 12/3/94
Phish – “Great Gig In The Sky” (Pink Floyd) – 8/11/93
Phish – “Suspicious Minds” (Elvis Presley) – 12/6/96
Phish – “If I Only Had A Brain” (Arlen/Harburg) – 11/16/95
Phish – “50 Ways To Leave Your Lover” (Paul Simon) – 8/8/11
And, just as an added bonus for making it this far, here’s a Phish original that would just not be the same without Fishman’s Electrolux.
Phish – “I Didn’t Know” – 7/5/14
Play that vacuum, Fish! Thanks for all the memories, here’s to another 57 years!
